Built for one laptop, then made for yours.
Epoch started as a personal setup. I work on my own laptop while I travel, and I needed my home services to keep working and my location to stay private on hotel and cafe networks I don't control.
VPN apps didn't settle it. They hid my address but left the time zone, region settings, Wi-Fi and browser saying where I was, and none of them could tell me whether they were working. So I built a setup that sends the connection home through a travel router, puts the laptop in a matching state, and checks the result.
Three rules it follows
- Prove it. The check never reports "probably fine". Either every check passes, or Epoch tells you which one failed and how to fix it.
- Put it back. Switching off restores every setting exactly as it was.
- Say what it is not. Epoch is general privacy hardening for your own laptop. It is not built to defeat any particular service, and it does not claim to make you invisible.
Early access
The Windows app is on sale now as an early-access build, for people who already have a travel router with a tunnel home. Early buyers get every update to version 1.0 and write straight to me. Epoch Kits, with the routers pre-paired, come later.
