Your laptop says where you are.
Ghost Mode makes it say home.
Epoch is a one-switch Windows app for people who work from home while they travel. It locks down every setting on the laptop that can give away your location, then proves it with a check: ✔ PROTECTED or a list of exactly what is wrong.

New place, new questions
Your bank, accounting software and government portals see a login from somewhere new and ask you to prove who you are, or lock you out.
More than an address
Your time zone, region settings, nearby Wi-Fi networks and browser all say where the laptop is.
No way to know
A VPN app hides some of that, some of the time, and never tells you what it missed.
How it works
01Once, at home
Set up your travel router's tunnel home, install Epoch and choose Set home. Epoch shows where your connection comes out and saves it when you confirm.
02On the road
Join the travel router to the hotel or cafe Wi-Fi from your phone, and plug the laptop into it with a cable.
03One click
Ghost Mode switches the laptop to match home and runs the check. One more click when you are back puts everything as it was.
What one click does
Turns off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Windows location. Stops browsers sharing your location or network address. Pins your time zone, region and date formats to home. Closes IPv6, so nothing leaves outside your tunnel. Then checks more than 20 signals, including the address and DNS server the internet sees, and names anything that gives you away.

HEAR FIRSTQuestions
Is this a VPN?
No. The tunnel runs on your travel router, not the laptop. Epoch makes the laptop itself match home and checks that the whole setup works. A VPN app on the laptop is flagged as a failing check.
What do I need?
A Windows 10 or 11 laptop (64-bit) with an administrator account, a travel router with a tunnel to your home connection, and a cable from the laptop to the router. Most laptops need a USB-C Ethernet adapter.
Does it work on a Mac?
Not yet. Epoch is Windows only for now.
Will it make me invisible?
No. Epoch is general privacy hardening for your own laptop on networks you do not control. It is not built to defeat any particular service, and it cannot hide what a webcam, a phone on the hotel Wi-Fi or an email confirmation reveals.
Why does Windows warn me when I install it?
This early-access build is not code-signed yet, so Windows shows "Windows protected your PC" the first time. The guide shows the two clicks past it.
Who makes it?
One founder, who built it for their own travel first. About Epoch.
